Remembering Jeffry Pastorelli

Rest in Peace Dear Friend

jeffry's portrait

Jeffry Pastorelli was a huge part of a lot of our lives, especially his wife, Tessie. He loved her so very much in First Life and Second Life.

His next love was his American Cancer Society Relay for Life Team, RELAY FOR HOPE. He worked hard alongside his dedicated teammates, and the team finished second in fundraising in both 2009 and 2010, raising an amazing $30,000 USD for cancer care and research.

Jeffry was a really fast driver and that kept us all on our toes when it came to fundraising. He was also a great mentor, and not only was his door open to any of us for anything, anytime here in Second Life, but his phone was always on for us in First Life. A lot of us spoke to him regularly just to shoot the breeze :)

Not only was he a fast driver with the team, but when he got on his motorcycle, it was fast or nothing. He had the kindest heart imaginable and looked out for everyone he knew and loved. He had a real passion for his Weimeraners and for the walking stick bug, and could often be found outdoors with both.

Jeffry will always be remembered at the chapel at Remembering Our Friends, now named the Jeffry Pastorellli Memorial Chapel, thanks to Mr. Mike Burleigh, Founder of Remembering Our Friends.

You will always be in our thoughts and hearts, rest in peace Jeffry.

-- Amanda Steadham, friend and teammate.

The Walking Stick Story

walking Stick imagew
Jeffry is in heaven .. joking around with God .. I know this because of the following story!

His favorite bug was a walking stick. When he found one walking around the outside of our home he would put it on his hand and let it walk from arm to arm, calling me out urgently to look at it with him. He would marvel at the physical aspects of the bug. Pointing out to me all the parts and pieces. Antenea .. legs .. body .. pinchers. He would then gently put it back on the house and let the walking stick return to its original spot.

On the night of his death after every one left and I was alone .. I called my best friend Sue in Texas to tell her. I had an excruciating headache and was crying. The aspirin in our home is kept in the kitchen on a shelf next to the stove. When I reached for the bottle .. on that very shelf .. at that very moment .. out of all the moments in an entire lifetime, there on the shelf was a walking stick. Jeffry's favorite bug. Of all the bugs in the world .. there .. on that glass shelf .. a walking stick.

I thought it wasn't alive at first but picked it up and put it outside on the railing to the deck. For 20 seconds it was still. As I turned to walk in the house. I noticed the bug put out his legs and walked across the span of the railing and up on the house he went. That was my answer to my questions. Not only is there a God. Jeffry is in heaven sitting next to Him taking cared of those he loves. I'm going to miss him terribly. Soulmate. Forever in my heart. I loved you, love you and will love you always.

--Tessie , Jeffry's wife.
