Remembering Our Friends Memorials

Founded in 2007 in Second Life, and in Avination in 2011. Remembering Our Friends Memorials were created to memorialize Virtual World residents that passed away in first life, and later we decided to add a section for friends and family of Second Life residents who had never been in Virtual Worlds..
Remembering Our Friends Memorials are surrounded by meadows and trees in a natural setting. They are peaceful places to contemplate and remember.
On the grounds are placed free standing monuments. All were custom made, and designed to the specifications of the requestor.
Since ROF's inception, hundreds of plaques have been created to memorialize those who have passed. There is a story and real feeling behind each one. The the people come from all over the world, from many cultures, demographics, and lifestyles.
To some the Virtual World is the only place they have to memorialize their lost friends and family. It is so true that we find deep connections with people through the Metaverse Community. Behind every avatar is a real person with real feelings.
ROF helps provide closure and support. Now we are getting more and more people requesting memorials for family and friends who never were Virtual World residents. Please come to ROF and wander through the memorial buildings and surrounding forest. Feel the peace, emotion and love that abound.

The chapel is available at all times of the day and night for gatherings and memorial services.
The rest of the building is used to display the memorial plaques. Walking through the memorial is a moving experience. The sentiments of love and loss expressed on the plaques are often profound and moving.

The memorial in Avination was developed in 2011 to expand the reach of Remembering Our Friends to the Metaverse community.
The memorial buildings are designed in an old world European theme and surrounded by lush tropical themed landscaping. The main building houses memorial plaques for those who have passed, while freestanding monuments are scattered throughout the grounds. Also, his chapel is available at all times of the day and night for gatherings and memorial services.
